Tucked away high up on the mountain on the Italian side of Cervinia is Refugio Gran Sometta – an alpine rustic restaurant serving incredible home-style food. The chef who started it, Luciano, claims to be the first person to have cooked pasta on the mountain back in 1969. The dishes are all served on paper or plastic as there is no running water.
